Social Skills Training

Social skills require a mix of so many skills sets. We assess your child's skills and teach the skills that are missing.

Social Skills

Children with a variety of disabilities struggle to learn the assortment of social skills necessary to be successful.

If your child is struggling with various social skills like making friends or maintaining relationships, social training can help.

At Marissa Bennett Consulting, we focus on the social areas that the child is struggling with, objectively identify what skills are missing or not being done in a culturally appropriate way, and then we design a behavior plan to teach that skill. Utilizing a number of research based curriculums, we use the most naturalistic setting as possible to teach children basic social rules and expectations.

Some social skills we will address include:

  • Emotions (identifying and expressing)
  • Social situations (identifying and interacting within)
  • Problem solving
  • Flexible thinking
  • Executive functioning
  • Reciprocal conversation
  • Theory of mind
